Privacy

Chat analysis

The chat file you choose is read and analyzed by your browser on your own device. It is not uploaded to our servers, not stored and not shared. When you close the page, the data is gone. We do not see who is in your chats or what was written.

Questions with AI (paid, optional)

If you choose to ask a question about a chat, the relevant parts of the chat and your question are sent to our server and from there to our AI provider (Anthropic, PBC, USA, under a data processing agreement) to generate the answer. The data is used only to answer your question, is not used to train models and is deleted after the answer is generated. Because chats contain messages of other people, use this feature only for chats you are part of and only where you may share the content.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., USA, with servers in the EU and USA. Vercel processes technical access data such as IP address and browser type for delivery and security. We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free traffic statistics (Vercel Web Analytics) that do not identify you.

Your rights

You have the right to information, correction, deletion and objection under the GDPR. Contact hello@simongrimm.at. Supervisory authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Vienna.

Terms of Service

TextScope provides statistics about chat exports you supply. The statistics are computed automatically and provided without guarantee of accuracy. Reply times and conversation starts are estimates based on message timestamps. You may only analyze chats you are a participant of. You are responsible for how you use the results and for respecting the privacy of other participants.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for personal injury. For slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
